The question of the existence of God is the most important question today. This is my favorite question to ask theists, atheists, agnostics, materialists, pantheists, Muslims, Mormons, pretty much every person on the face of the planet. As I have come from a life of non-belief even while being a “practicing” Catholic, I used to believe and was convicted that truth is just made up and words have no meaning and there is no way there is a God. The more I study the subject, the more I usually get confused, then go looking for more answers, and more answers. I watch debates on YouTube all the time on the existence of God. I have heard hundreds of arguments from the best atheist and best theist, and I continue to come to one conclusion, there is a God. Today, God is something that no one really wants to talk about, its awkward or makes people uncomfortable and no one wants to claim that something is absolutely true even though they claim that its true nothing is true (self-contradicting). In this post-modern thought of a new atheism there are still more people that believe that there is a God, about 2.01% of people are atheist, meaning they don’t believe in any type of higher being.

The point of this blog is to not try and persuade people by the immensity of scientific, philosophical, and historical evidence that through reason and the intellect we can come to an exceedingly upheld certainty that there is a God. Nor will I talk about the thousands and thousands of brilliant minds, that exceed all of our knowledge and skill, who were scientists, philosophers, teachers and businessmen, that came to a conclusion there is a God. I will simply ask the question, what if? This question freaked me out when I was searching for God. What if all the stuff the Church teaches is true? What if Jesus really did live, die, and rise again? What if midst all the seemingly contradicting assertions in scripture it is really the Word of God? What if the entire certainty atheist have is false? What is there is objective truth? What if science is extremely helpful but not the final answer? What if there really is a loving God? What if the problem of evil can be answered? What if miracles happen all the time? What if we are not all hallucinating that there is a God? What if it isn’t just wishful thinking to make us “feel” better? What if the evolution of man was started by an eternal “I AM”? AHHHHHHHHHHH!!!! So many of these questions scared me because obviously the God debate continues and I have realized that no matter who you talk to or how educated they are, no one has all the answers! I felt like I could never enter into a talk about God because I was never “prepared”! I will never be fully prepared! It is our duty to study, learn, think, ask, and question! If you are a searching for truth I commend you, as Catholics, we claim to have the fullness of truth. That is a pretty major claim, so lets get on it! What I want these blogs to do is just get people to start thinking, and searching for truth! No time in history ever was there a statue or building made for someone that said this, “biggest coward of 1557”, or “best liar of 2013”, no one likes a coward or a liar, we all want to be courageous and encounter truth! For Christians to claim that we know the truth is insane, it’s crazy, its offensive and rude. But what if it is true? Enough of my questions, I am here to give you sources so you can study and look them up yourself. Everything now is instant gratification, there is nothing in the blog that will give you answers to all suffering and questions but start today!
